Livestream Automation Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Asbury Livestream Automation (the “Tool”), an internal application built and operated by Asbury United Methodist Church of Columbus, Indiana (“Asbury Columbus,” “we,” “us”), accesses and uses data through the Google APIs it connects to.

What the Tool does

The Tool automates the creation and scheduling of Asbury Columbus’s own weekly Sunday worship livestreams on our YouTube channel. It runs on infrastructure operated by Asbury Columbus and is used only by our technical operations staff and volunteers.

Google API scopes used

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube — used to create and manage scheduled live broadcasts, set broadcast titles, descriptions, and thumbnail images, bind broadcasts to our existing stream key, and add videos to playlists on the Asbury Columbus YouTube channel.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload — used to upload thumbnail images to broadcasts on the Asbury Columbus YouTube channel.

What data we access and how we use it

The Tool only ever accesses data belonging to Asbury Columbus’s own YouTube channel — it does not access, request, or process YouTube data belonging to any other person, channel, or organization. Data retrieved through these scopes (such as our channel’s existing stream keys, playlists, and broadcast records) is used solely to automate the weekly livestream setup described above and is not used for any other purpose.

Data storage and sharing

OAuth credentials (an authorization token) are stored locally on Asbury Columbus-operated systems and are never transmitted to, or shared with, any third party. We do not sell, rent, or share any data obtained through Google APIs with any third party. No data obtained through these scopes is used for advertising purposes.

Asbury Livestream Automation’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data retention

Stored authorization tokens are retained only as long as needed to operate the Tool and are deleted when no longer needed or when access is revoked. No other Google user data is retained beyond what is needed to complete the automated actions described above.

Revoking access

Access granted to this Tool can be revoked at any time via your Google Account’s Third-party apps & services settings.
