Asbury Livestream Automation is an internal tool used by the technical operations team at Asbury United Methodist Church of Columbus, Indiana (asburycolumbus.org) to automate the creation and scheduling of our weekly Sunday worship livestreams on YouTube.
Each week, the tool reads the upcoming Sunday’s service plan from our Planning Center Services account and uses it to automatically create the scheduled YouTube live broadcasts for our Traditional and Contemporary services, set the correct thumbnail artwork, write the broadcast description, and bind each broadcast to our existing YouTube stream key. On Saturday evenings it updates each broadcast’s description with the finalized worship order.
This tool is operated exclusively by Asbury Columbus staff and volunteers for the management of Asbury Columbus’s own YouTube channel. It is not distributed publicly and is not used by, or intended for, anyone outside our church’s technical operations team.
