Kids Ministries

The heart of kid's ministry at our church is to teach kids about who God is and how His word applies to their lives in creative and memorable ways. Through engaging teaching, supportive environments, and close knit small group classes, we guide kids towards a better understanding of what it means to have a real relationship with God. We want kids to know that the Bible is full of interesting stories that matter in their lives today, that fun and games are definitely allowed at church, that worship can be full of loud music and silly dancing, and that there are adults in the church who truly want to love and lead them closer to Jesus. In other words, we want them to know that where God is, life is a lot more fun!

Kid's Church is a time for worship for 3 to 12 years olds at 11 am services. Kid's Church features songs, crafts, bible lessons, snacks, puppets and a bit of play time, all focused around your child and their special relationship with Jesus! Head to the Kids Check-in Station near fellowship circle before service to get checked-in and kids will be dismissed from the CWC. Kids in this class must be potty trained.

Youth Ministries

Student ministry is such a huge part of what we do at our church. We want to guide our students in developing a personal faith in Christ as they step into their specific roles in the story He's writing with their lives. We work hard to create environments that engage students in good conversation about God, encouraging them to ask questions, search out answers, and truly learn to listen to His leading in their lives. And maybe even have a little fun while they're at it! After all, if life in Christ is truly the best life we can live, shouldn't we encourage our students to enjoy living it to the fullest?

Life Groups

Our life groups represent opportunities for all people to grow. Life is messy.Our small groups provide an opportunity to live life together and help each other through these messy times. New bible studies, Sunday school classes, small groups, and other life groups form and disband over time. To take a first step, we encourage you to join our open bible study on Wednesday nights at 6 pm. From there, we can get you plugged into other life groups that fit your interests.

Asbury Men is a ministry of Asbury that strives to provide all men with opportunities for service and fellowship.

Service takes many forms, including financial support for local Church needs, Scout Troops, global ministries and community charities. To support the projects, we raise funds by holding theme dinners and selling “locally grown fruit”. Asbury Men also provide sponsorship of the Family Fish Fry, Church Thanksgiving Dinner, Valentine Gala, Easter Brunch and other major events that bring us together.

The Asbury Men’s Group is informal, fun, and sincere about what is done. All men of the church are welcome to participate any time and all of the time.

On Sunday at 10:00 a.m., between the Traditional and Contemporary worship services, we gather together in small comfortable groups throughout the church, in order to study and discuss God’s word in a relaxed atmosphere of Christian fellowship and mutual support. All persons are welcome, no prior knowledge or experience is required, and there is no such thing as a dumb question!

Sunday School is a great way to help us connect the Bible to our busy modern lives. Our groups are informal in nature and tend to be organized by similar ages or interests. On a typical day, a group will focus on a particular Bible verse, chapter or lesson, and examine it in detail. This might be a stand-alone subject, or one in a series of studies. The material may be presented in print or video. The subject matter can be virtually any facet of God’s word and how it relates to our daily lives.

Not sure where to go? Just ask at the guest center and we will be happy to explain the options and help guide you to their study areas. It is also very acceptable to try a number of different Sunday School options to help you decide on the best fit for you. Gathering together informally in small groups to study and discuss God’s word is how the Church got its start thousands of years ago, and it is still the heartbeat of the Church today. Come join us!

Outreach Ministries

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, taught that we pursue our faith in community and action with others. We practice a social holiness. We insist that personal salvation always involves Christian mission and service to the world. The United Methodist Church has a long history of action and advocacy for social justice.
At Asbury, we are moving in our local community with such programs as Mission Columbus (our construction ministry), Pit Stop (taco church for high schoolers), and the Asbury Conservatory (free music lessons for kids). We support local efforts like Transformational Living Ministries (recovery ministry) and national efforts like the Appalachian Service Project with our Youth and Red Bird Mission. We support global mission efforts through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and a number of other mission organizations.

Making church like Heaven on Earth by creating an accepting and friendly atmosphere where the love of God is demonstrated.

Greeters: The greeter is the first person people meet as they walk to the door. They have an opportunity to reflect the care and love of Asbury to the members and visitors in our congregation.

Ushers: The usher is available to help the congregation and visitors alike to be fully immersed in their worship experience on Sunday morning. This may include handing out bulletins, assisting with seating, answering questions, providing directions to areas of the church, collecting the offering, and occasionally delivering communion.

Creating an atmosphere of worship that will literally change lives. While we seek to provide music with excellence, the ultimate goal is to draw one closer to Jesus Christ. Regardless of your current skill level, we will find a place for you to be a worship leader. We are always looking for liturgists, hosts, acolytes, choir members, band members, song leaders and vocalists, handbell players, and other musicians to provide special music.

Providing the love, acceptance, friendliness, and compassion of Christ to the visitor and to all those who come through the church doors with the purpose of assimilating them into the life and ministry of the church. We do this in many ways... here are some of them!
